Account Space

[TL/2] TL/2 (Transload Service version 2) provides you an account to keep your website maintenance information here at www.Transload.net. Without it, these information would have to be kept in the cookies, like the original Transloader does. Cookies are known to be potential security loophole, and from time to time you will lose them when WebTV Networks Inc. is doing its weekly maintenance. This means cookies are very unreliable.

TL/2 keeps all the information into the account space what were kept in "FTP Palette" / "E-mail Palette" of the original Transloader, and there is no limit on how many entries you can keep them. There are also other information you can keep...

Web Space

While TL/2 emphasizes on the facilities to help you move the web page data around the Internet, it also provides a web space to hold your web pages here at www.Transload.net. You have 10MB space, free of commercial AD of any kind, inifinte level folders, SSI (Server Side Inclusion), a super short homepage address like "http://www.transload.net/~yourname", and a very easy to use File Manager to help you manage the files.

Integrated System

TL/2 integrates uploading / downloading / extracting facilities all around a centralized PFM system. The maintenance facilities are designed to follow the coherent style of operation. All the features can be accessed right from the member Main Area, there is no hide-and-seek.

Multiple Transloading

This is how it works:
1. You download multiple files with the new PHEX;
2. The files are saved in your an account space file area called File Pool;
3. You use the PFM (Pool / FTP Manager) and upload them all.
It can all be done by just clicking buttons, it's simple as that!

Progressive HTML Extraction

The new PHEX (Progressive HTML Extractor) gives you an accumulated site extraction list, it shows the information about which links you already downloaded / extracted, and provides you structural information of the site with links so that you can go on extract / download further.

Fire And Forget

TL/2 provides you the "Fire-And-Forget" mode of downloading and uploading files, which means you can issue the transloading commands to be executed in the "background" and then you can go surfing elsewhere. You no longer are "stuck" to the transloading working pages -- you get yourself more freedom on the Internet!

Copy the entire site

TL/2 provides a very powerful tool so that you can copy your entire site from one FTP server to another. It not only copies the files for you, but also recreates the entire directory hierarchy structure on the target site. Site moving has never been so easy with your WebTV!

E-mail

A built-in E-mail account comes with your TL/2 account, eg: "[email protected]". The new IMEX (Integrated Mail Extractor) can work directly on your built-in e-mail account with lightening speed, because both the mail server and IMEX itself are on exactly the same machine. IMEX also provides you an editable list to maintain your other POP3 e-mail accounts from other servers, such as WebTV ("pop.webtv.net").

What is better, IMEX is now more than merely a mail extractor, it is a full-strength web-base mail system. Read mails, forward mails, reply mails, address books, mail folders, etc, you name it, we got it.

Anti-spam

You can block unwelcome spammers with IMEX simply by clicking buttons. It works on your built-in TL/2 mail account as well as external ones.

News Reader
TL/2 comes with itself a News Reader program so that you can post articles to newsgroups, read articles from newsgroups, and you can extract / append attachments just as you can in IMEX. This News Reader also provides the feature of keyword searching.

ZIP / UNZIP [Z]

The "ZIP / unZIP" utility is added to PFM as an add-on, so that you can easily create your own ZIP file, or extract files from within a ZIP file. (copyright message)

PFM can also handle the decompression / extraction of GZIPped and TARred files.

TIDY up your web page

What's "TIDY"? Well, it's a public domain program from W3C, which helps web authers make better web pages (in the sense of keeping up with W3C standards), by validating the error codes in the page, replacing them with correct ones, and possibly inserting missing ones when needs be. It is added to PFM as an add-on. (copyright message)

Writing MIDI with ABC

First you learn something about "ABC", a simple musical notation language, then you can actually write songs and convert them to MIDI with TL/2. This ABC-to-MIDI (and vice versa, MIDI-to-ABC) is added to PFM as an add-on. (copyright message)

Built-in Image Tool

An extremely easy-to-use Image Tool is built into the system. It includes the following features: probe, crop, pan, resize, mirror, rotate, expand, and pixel filtering. All editing commands can be undone with infinite depth. It can accept the following image file types: JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, Targa and PCX. It can generate either JPEG or PNG files. It can generate PNG files with transparency.
